A riotous and cheeky new sex comedy that's equal parts sparkling high farce and deliciously naughty fun! Set in a charming English cottage in the scandalous summer of 1923, this wildly funny romp is packed with tangled romances, forbidden affairs, outrageous lies, and more witty one-liners than you can count. Fresh off a hit run on Broadway, Sandy Rustin's The Cottage is sharp, stylish, and topped with just the right amount of saucy. Get ready for an evening of high-speed, laugh-out-loud fun! Casting: Three male and three female actors. All ethnicities welcome. All roles require significant physical comedy, including staged violence (slapping, fainting) and intimate scenes with stage kissing/intimacy and romantic touch. British dialects as indicated. Auditions will consist of cold-reading from script. Please bring a recent photo or headshot. Be prepared to provide rehearsal conflicts as of April 30, 2026. Roles available
Sylvia
A "lovely and rash romantic" who is feminine, yet strong-willed. Her attempts at true love leave her frustrated and ever hopeful.
Beau
"Perhaps the best-looking man in Britain", he is the type of fellow quite happy with the status quo, no matter what the status quo may be.
Marjorie
An "extremely pregnant" (8 months) character who is pragmatic and a tad spicy. Unflappable in every sense of the word. Unless of course, she's in labor.
Dierdre
A "pretty, sometimes wise, nincompoop". Gullible is Dierdre's middle name. She's awfully sweet, though, if you like that sort of thing. Surprisingly capable of unexpected clarity and insight.
Richard
A "murderous, yet gentle soul." Born to be half of a soul-mated duo, Richard is hell-bent on finding and keeping his true love (no matter what). Must be comfortable with prop firearms.
Clarke
A distinguished gent with a lover's spirit. Always aiming to please, his kind-heartedness may lead others to take him for a fool.
